Writing:
In June 2021 I was joint-winner of the 18-25 category of the New Welsh Awards, with my creative essay ‘Return to Water’ (New Welsh Reader, Issue 128). This attracted attention from another publisher and has resulted in the commissioning of a full essay collection, which I am currently working on.
My print publications include fiction appearances in Cheval 13 (Terry Hetherington Award Anthology 2020), Heartland (PENfro Prize anthology 2019), MANY: The 2020 Manchester Anthology and Lucent Dreaming, Issue 9 (April 2021). I also have a story published with Porridge Magazine, Foxglove, which quickly became on of their most popular pieces and featured in their #InternationalWomensDay 8 Posts by Inspiring Women.
I have written a number of reviews and features for Wales Arts Review, including two of their Best Reviews of 2019, as well as for The Manchester Review, Gwales, The F Word Magazine – and Ed Fringe Review, where I was also Editor in 2018.
My essays and articles have appeared in Santes Dwynwen Magazine (April 2021), and Litro Magazine, among others.
Podcasting:
In 2020 I created The Podcast for New Writing – a series of discussions with students and authors at Manchester’s Centre for New Writing. Having pitched the project to the Centre I was then commissioned to produce and present the series, which received excellent response.
I also produced The Parthian Podcast. The first series, as featured in The Bookseller, shines a light on queer Welsh writing. My role at New Writing North also involves the coordination of podcast production and audio projects.
I also have an interest in audio essays and creative writing. You can listen to an abridged version of my piece ‘My Skin is a Silver Lining’ at Litro Magazine, which was featured as an editor’s pick (April 2021).
